Another JIMI HENDRIX Guitar Brings Relief To Abused Philippines Children
April 25, 2007According to Hollywood Today, yet another Jimi Hendrix guitar has brought big auction dollars in for charity, adding to the $480,000 on of his axes brought in for Hurricane Katrina. A hand-painted replica of Hendrix's famous psychedelic Gibson "Flying V" guitar raised $15,000 for the Center of Hope at their recent celebrity gala to benefit abused children in the Philippines.
Jimi Hendrix helped Katrina victims this past Saturday with his single guitar contribution which brought in just under a half a million dollars, selling for $480,000. "The Icons of Music" auction was held at New York's Hard Rock Cafe by Julien's Auctions, gathering memorabilia from famous rockers and icons to benefit musicians who lost everything in Hurricane Katrina, raising approximately $2.7 million dollars.
